***It is very important for potential trekkers for the 1 Day Inca Trail to understand that you are doing the same trail as the 2 Day Inca Trail, just quicker. Trekkers need to be in moderate to excellent physical condition to be able to do this trek and arrive at Machu Picchu Citadel in time. If you think the trek may be too strenuous, you may book the 2 day Inca Trail which arrives to Machu Picchu in one day but at a slower pace later in the day.

Royal Inca trail through the Sun Gate and explore Machu Picchu
- 04:00: Our Team will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco or 5:30am Ollantaytambo if you want to start from there.
- 06:10: Train from Ollantaytambo to Km 104 (head trail) The Expedition train ride consists of spectacular views
- 7:20: You will start hiking through the Royal Inca trail, explore amazing Inca sites, Chachabamba, Wiñayhuayna, the Sun gate, from where you will have the first amazing view of Machu Picchu.
- 14:00: Machu Picchu guide tour By late afternoon, enjoy sunset and take the great picture when Machu Picchu its empty.
- 17:30: Bus down to Aguas Calientes
- 18:20: Train return to Ollantaytambo (depends on availability)
- 20:00: Bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco in our private van
ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco - 104 Kms - Wiñay Wayna - Sun Gate - Machu Picchu
The Short Inca Trail tour to Machu Picchu starts from pick-up at your hotel (4:00 am approx.) or your hotel in Ollantaytambo by 5:30am, and drive you to the train station where you will board the train that leaves from Ollantaytambo Train Station heading to Km 104 (start of our walk of Short Inca Trail) in this tour you will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes and different ecosystems.
When you reach km 104 and then cross a suspension bridge to reach the checkpoint, you must present your passport or document with which you made your reservation. At the end of the respective controls we will start with the uphill walk for 3 hours until we reach the Inca Wiñay Wayna site which in Quechua means (forever young) Wiñay Wayna has a height of 2680 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most attractive sites of this route .
After your guided tour we will stop to eat our box lunch. After recharging our energy we will continue our hike for an hour and a half until we reach the Intipunku (Sun Gate) where you can enjoy the first panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Finally we will continue walking through the last section of the Inca Trail until we reach the place where you can take the classic photo with the old citadel.
The Tour Guide will give you a tour, which takes about two hours. You will see some of the most important parts of Machu Picchu. You will also learn about how Machu Picchu is divided into three sectors: agricultural, residential and religious.
Take your time to enjoy this magical experience before you take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. In the evening at 6:20pm you will take the return Expedition Train to Ollantaytambo and catch our private van to Cusco and your hotel. You will arrive around 10:00 pm.

If you upgrade to the Vistadome Train, you will depart Aguas Calientes at 6:10pm.
***IMPORTANT:
- It is possible to start the 1 day Inca Trail in Ollantaytambo or Cusco.
- If you choose you can stay the night in Aguas Calientes and we will book your return train for the next day.
- You can upgrade to the Vistadome Train , you will depart Aguas Calientes at 6:10pm. $67 USD.
- It is not possible to do the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain climb due to time restraints.
- On the 1 day Inca Trail, we will be doing the circuit #3 and there is now way to do another circuit.

TRIP NOTES
Important
This trek does NOT include porters. Your duffel bag will be sent by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas calientes. Please try to pack as light as possible, which is key to enjoying this amazing trek.
